A regular meeting of the Ocean Grove Home Owners Association was held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association’s Community Room, 28 Pilgrim Pathway. Ocean Grove. Barbara Burns, President of the Association, chaired the meeting.
Barbara called the meeting to order at 10:05.
A prayer was followed by the flag salute. Barbara welcomed Carol Rizzo and Rob Lane of the Neptune Township Committee and Michael Badger of the Camp Meeting Association.
- The annual Christmas Breakfast will be held on Saturday, December 15, at 9:00 am in the Community Room. There is no charge for the breakfast, but donations are welcomed.
- The Neptune Township Environmental/Shade Tree Commission is seeking volunteers. If interested, contact Beth Miller, chairman, at email@example.com.
Guest Speaker: Dell O’Hara, Professor of History at Nyack College and an authority on the history of Ocean Grove particularly its unique architectural heritage.
Questions followed a wonderful presentation.
Treasurer’s report – George Germann reported that OGHOA is in excellent financial condition. Closing balance in the checking account is $15,561 and $23,000 in the Legal fund.
North End Report – Joan Venezia presented a comprehensive, detailed report on the status of the North End. She offered its history over the past 10 years, during which not much progress had been made, but reported that in the coming 6 months both the Township should complete negotiation of a redevelopment agreement to implement the Redevelopment Plan approved in 2008. It is anticipated that the information will be posted on the OGHOA.org website. There was much discussion and questions from those in attendance.
January’s guest speaker will be Jamie Jackson, Executive Director of the Camp Meeting Association.
