A regular meeting of the Ocean Grove Home Owners Association (the Association) was held on Saturday, September 23, 2017, at the Ocean Grove Community Room.  Barbara Burns, President of the Association, chaired the meeting and Theresa Checki served as Secretary.

The meeting was called to order by Barbara Burns at 10:10 am.  Welcome remarks were followed by a prayer and the Flag salute.

Business meeting:

Announcements: Volunteers are needed for the Association table at the OG Fall Festival on October 7.  Nancy Clark will coordinate Voter Registration.

Report by Officer John Jackson, Police Liaison to the Association: Officer Jackson reported that the summer was a relatively quiet one.  There were some minor crimes related to unlocked doors, bikes, unleashed dogs.

Treasurer’s Report:  Barbara indicated that George Germann will present a detailed report at the October meeting.

Nancy Clark presented a report on CLG (Certified Local Government) as well as the HPC with its updated, more user-friendly  website.  A number of questions on the HPC followed.

Parking: Joyce Klein reported that the Township Committee may be looking at issuing parking permits on a trial basis; no specifics at this time.  Parking is still a problem on the north side of Ocean Grove, even after the summer months.  The problem of warehoused cars  and the Township ordinance on this issue was discussed.  Questions followed.

2017 Candidates Forum 1:

Democratic Candidates for Freeholder: Dr. Margie Donlon and Brian Wilton Participated in the forum.  After introductory statements, questions from the audience were addressed.

Republican Candidates Lillian Burry and Patrick Impreveduto were unable to attend.

Candidates for Township Committee—Democratic Candidate Kevin McMillan and Independent Candidate Michael Pullano participated in the second forum.    A robust discussion followed introductory comments.

Republican John Snowden was unable to attend but a statement was read on his behalf.

The meeting adjourned at 11:45 a.m.
