A regular meeting of the Ocean Grove Homeowners Association (the “Association”) was held on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the Ocean Grove Community Room. Barbara Burns chaired the meeting. and Theresa Checki served as secretary.
The meeting was called to order by Barbara Burns, President of the Association, at 10:05 a.m.
Barbara Burns announced that the election for one seat on the Board of Trustees will be held on July 22, 2017. Deadline for nominations is June 24, 2017.
Annual Breakfast meeting will be Saturday, August 26, 2017 at The Starving Artist. Tickets are available for purchase –$12.00 in advance and $15.00 at the door.
Officer John Jackson reported that things have been quiet in Ocean Grove. Six new officers have been added to the Neptune Police Department.
Treasurer’s Report: George Germann reported that for the period 1/1/17-5/27/17: Opening Balance, $11,243; income, $7,545; expenses, $4,233; closing balance, $14,555. Legal fund balance is $23,412. There are 338 paid memberships.
Parking: Richard Williams reported that the striping on Central Avenue is being done; striping at the west end of Main Avenue is yet to be done.
Midtown Urban Renaissance Corp. (MURC): Richard presented an update on its activities. He reported that a program, “Building Bridges”, will be held on June 5, 6:30-8:30 pm at the Gables Elementary School.
Fires: Barbara Burns reported that she called Senator Jennifer Beck’s office for reports on the fires which occurred in Ocean Grove over the past several years. Unfortunately investigators’ reports will not be released, but specific questions would be considered.
Guest Speaker: Pastor John DiGiamberardino, Chief Operations Officer for the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association. Pastor John offered a comprehensive presentation that included both his personal background, and the history and operations of the Camp Meeting Association. Questions from the membership followed, including requests for release of the Camp Meeting’s annual finance report.
