A regular meeting of the Ocean Grove Homeowners Association was held on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at 10 am at the Camp Meeting Association Community Room,24 Pilgrim Pathway, Ocean Grove.
The meeting was called to order by Barbara Burns, President, at 10:08 am with a prayer followed by the flag salute.
Barbara made the following announcements:
- The incumbent Board of Fire Commissioner candidates for fire commissioner, Bob McEwan and Ed Deuchar, were re-elected.
- Replacement of water mains on Broadway and Lawrence Avenue has begun to replace existing water mains on Broadway and Lawrence Avenue. Work each day will begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. Traffic on those streets will be re-routed during the work day. The replacement of these mains will improve the water distribution system, increase flows to fire hydrants and improve the delivery of water to residences on those streets.
- Replacement of the northern end of the Ocean Grove boardwalk is continuing. Demolition is complete, and the work area has been fenced off. Work on this project will include excavation of sand from the area beneath the demolished section of the boardwalk, and the eventual return of that sand to the beach.
Captain Michael McGhee continues as our temporary Neptune Township liaison. He reported on a relatively quiet winter with advice, as always, to lock it up and keep an eye out.
Treasurer’s Report – In George Germann’s absence Barbara reported on the continuing financial health of the OGHOA.
Parking Report — Joyce Klein reported that the Township has decided to not pursue any further changes to parking in Ocean Grove before the upcoming 2018 summer.
HPC — Nancy Clarke reported that there is now an RFQ for Architects interested in drafting updates to the HPC Guidelines and several have replied. Non timeline has been give for a decision.
Featured Speakers – Nancy White and Lauren Black of Phoenix Insurance Group advised on the important things Homeowners should consider when buying or renewing your homeowners’ insurance.
The meeting adjourned at 11:15 am
Respectfully submitted, Theresa Checki, Secretary for the OGHOA
