A regular meeting of the Ocean Grove Home Owners Association was held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association’s Community Room, 28 Pilgrim Pathway. Ocean Grove. Barbara Burns, President of the Association, chaired the meeting.

Barbara called the meeting to order at 10:05 and commenced with a prayer and the flag salute.

Announcements:

Time to renew your membership in the Homeowners Association; sign up is in the rear of the room.

  • Ray DiFaria passed away this week.  Services were this am.
  • February is Black History Month.  As a part of the celebration, Neptune Township and the Neptune Board of Education will present a program on black migration in the 20th century on February 16 at the Neptune High School Performing Arts Center.
  • Snow shoveling reminder: Section 13-2 of the Municipal Code of Neptune Township requires that owners and tenants shovel their sidewalks within 12 hours of daylight following a snow storm.  Penalties range from $50 – $500 per day.
  • HOA February Speaker – next month’s speaker will be Leanne Hoffman, Neptune Township Director of Engineering and Planning.

Treasurer’s Report – George Germann presented the 2018 Final Financial Report

Officer Christopher McGinley introduced himself as the new liaison between the Neptune Police Department and the Home Owner’s Association.  He urged everyone to ask new neighbors to provide a cell phone number so that they may be called in the event of an emergency.  He then took questions from the audience.

Guest Speaker:

Barbara Burns introduced Jamie Jackson, the recently appointed Executive Director of the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association.  Jamie is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Camp Meeting.   Jamie provided an overview of his background and discussed some of the Camp Meeting’s upcoming events—its 150th anniversary as well as a capital campaign, and took questions from the audience.

Other comments:

Rob Lane provided information on upcoming events in the Township, and Diana Harris, president of MURC invited the audience to the festivities on February 16 commemorating Black History month.

The meeting adjourned at 11:20 am.
