A regular meeting of the Ocean Grove Homeowners Association was held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 10 am at the Ocean Grove Community Room, 28 Pilgrim Pathway.
The meeting was called to order at 10:05 am by Barbara Burns, President. A prayer and flag salute followed. Barbara welcomed our guests—Jamie Jackson of the Camp Meeting, Rob Lane, Township Committee, member and guest speaker Vito Gadaleta, Neptune Township Business Administrator
Spring Fling will be Saturday, May 4, 2019, A sign-up sheet for volunteers to work at the Home Owners table is in the rear of the room.
Ocean Grove Beautification Committee – Volunteers are needed for planting for Thursday, May 2.
Ocean Grove Shuffleboard – Membership information is on the table in the rear.
HOA membership – in recognition of Ocean Grove’s 150th Anniversary this year, free membership to the HOA will be given to new members who sign up prior to May 31, 2019.
HOA in conjunction with the Historical Society will sponsor two special sessions to be held at the Arts Center. Details to follow.
May Meeting Speaker will be Dr. David Goldston, head of the MIT Washington Office, who will discuss climate change.
Treasurers Report: Barbara reported (in George’s absence) that the HOA is in excellent financial condition.
Historic Presentation: Nancy Clark reported that at the Neptune Township Committee meeting on Monday, April 22, the Township Committee approved a budget item of $30,000 for a consultant for matters relating to CLG status and HPC guidelines
Parking: Joyce Klein reported that the Neptune 2019 budget includes some money for a parking consultant.
Guest Speaker: Vito Gadaleta, Business Administrator, Director of Economic Development and COO for Neptune Township. Vito provided an update on issues that directly impact Ocean Grove including the recent fire on the board walk, the North End redevelopment, parking and the use of shuttles for a number of large events this summer. Vito’s presentation was followed by a lively question and answer period.
